Also, had the chance to meet and chat with David and Johnny for about 40 minutes after the show. They hung out, signed pretty much anything folks wanted signed and were very gratious with their time. New album in Sept / Oct(David told me the probable title, but I'm now drawing a blank) fall tour, plus various comments on drawing up set lists, solo recordings and why they do this thing called Cracker. Having seen them numberous times over the last 8 years, this was a nice treat.
Dave, Brandy and Kenny, along with one of the road dudes (sorry, don't know his name) had dinner at a Japanese restaurant across the street from the venue, and we ate next to them. Then, I shook Johnny's hand before the show - he was hanging out outside the venue.
They started out with a song I didn't recognize - probably one of the new ones I can't figure out how to snag on the web site. then they launched into it - heavy from the first and second albums, but no "Infirmary" or "Song About the Rain". Played "Loser," though. And "I Want Everything."
From the last two albums, not much. Played "Big Dipper" and "The Golden Age," "Seven Days" and "Been Around the World," plus "Wedding Day" in the usual style. Missed "How Can I Live Without You."
Great show, lousy venue. I don't understand why these guys aren't the biggest thing around.
