I thought Brown's Island was the perfect backdrop for Cracker. The train going by, the James River in the background, the great weather, it was awesome. I was really pumped for this show, I hadn't seen them since Little Texas in April. I took pics at Little Texas and only one of Brandy came out, so I was determined to get some good pics. I hung out with my cousin, my friend and her son during the first few songs. I've never heard "Been Around the World" or "Waiting for you Girl" live, and it was awesome. We were kinda far from the stage so I decided to get a little closer to get some pics.
Can you say "Mosh"? People were crazy in the crowd, I was afraid it was going to turn into a mob. Dust clouds everywhere, right to the stage. It was hard to totally enjoy the music that close to the stage because I was afraid the crowd surfers were going to be dropped on my head (some people surfing literally fell on their heads). I even saw some concerned looks on David and Brandy's faces. Plastic bottles, a football, and a shoe were being thrown around also.
Cracker, along with the former Campers put on an awesome show, although it was shorter than I would have liked. Highlights: Been Around the World, Tania, Waiting for you Girl (awesome!!!), Wedding Day ("for Virginia" yelled Johnny) and Take the Skinheads Bowling. I'm not as familiar with the ex-Camper members, so it was fun to hear and see the interaction with Cracker and Camper members. The violin playing (Jonathan, right?) was awesome.
A little disappointed to not hear some songs that would have been perfect for the scenery (Golden Age, Sunday Train, James River), but maybe that would have been too cliche'. Anyway, great show, I got some great pics (that I will share). Did anyone go to the Sweetwater show? Unfortunately I missed it, I hope it rocked (I'm sure it did).
Those are my two cents...
