Let me say that this was my first ever Cracker show even though I've been a fan for about 9 years. I guess you could say that they don't come around these parts too often. This, however, was probably the best concert I've ever been to.
I went with my brother-in-law who never had heard much about Cracker before hand, as many people in cincy obviously have not either. Anyway the set started off pretty calm with "How can I live with out you" and only went up from there. About a quarter of the way into the show, some of the fans started yelling out what songs they wanted to play next. The coolest thing happened after the next song. Dave started asking what songs to play next and they played whatever the crowd yelled loudest. There was a spot where Cracker played "Sweet Potato", "100FP", "Movie Star". & "Sweet Thistle" that the crowd (and myself) went absolutely nuts.
Bogarts was a little over half full (which I was a little bummed about) but after Cracker started going I wouldn't of known the difference if there was only 20 people there. I gotta say also that I love the new song, "you could be my love." I sure can't wait for the next record whenever it comes.
When I heard Cracker that night, it took me right back to college at the U. of Kentucky living in a run down southern style mansion house right outside campus, living with five guys. Drinking weinharts on the battered patio and listening to Kerosene Hat. Those were some of the best days I've ever experienced and will never forget again as long as I have my Cracker cds to listen to.
It's been awhile since the concert, but here's set list from that awesome summer night at Bogarts.
