Karen by way of Soraya
With the exception of Johnny throwing in the intro riff to Sweet Child of Mine during a solo, there were no April Fool's Day surprises, as some might have expected (like bringing on a Brittney Spears look alike to perform with the band, or opening the show with Highway to Hell or something). But the band was 100% into their work all night and played a long and energized set which had everyone loving it.
I See the Light, and Sweet Thistle Pie were unbelievably turbocharged even though both are moderate tempo tunes. An acoustic Wedding Day was a venomous, tasty treat. For the many Buffalo-area Deadheads, a sweet Loser was laid at our feet. In fact, if you didn't know it was a Grateful Dead song, you'd think it was Cracker song, it fits in so perfectly with their style. Great show, and all we can say is: come back soon, New York never seems to get on the Cracker tour schedule enough!
Karen gets the impression from her chats w/ the band that this summer's tour schedule will be robust and full, going on into fall. Save your pennies, lovers of the road ... move over Phishheads, we Crackerheads travel just as hard *and* we smell better. ;)
