Anyway, we rolled in to town, and gave a friend of mine from high school a surreal evening. My friend, David Burkett, and I havent seen each other for 15 years - and I suddenly appeared in Phoenix and dragged him off to this Cracker show, and at the end of the evening he drove home and that was that. I did promise to come visit again since that part of the country is so breathtaking.
Anyway ... this show was at the resteraunt owned by Alice Cooper, who lives in Phoenix now. All the wait staff had to wear eye make up just like Alice Cooper - quite funny. : ) The place was something like a Hard Rock Cafe I guess .. the stage was a little funny though. They ripped out the building next door and set up a stage and did some shows. The area for the crowd was .. different. It was much wider than it was deep, but the stage was open on all sides so everyone could see. There were also two balconies to view the show from. The sound equipment was set up on half of one, but the top balcony was wide open and provided a weird view of the top of the band.
We arrived during Jonathan and Victor's set, so I didnt keep a list of their songs this night. Again, I'll make a plea .. if anyone else was recording the show, get in touch with me, I'm very interested in Jonathan and Victor's set that night.

I was bouncing around the club and talking to my friend for most of the first part of
the show. I finally settled down and enjoyed the second half of the show.
When Bugs got on stage .. he was in drag and it actually went over quite well with the crowd. It still surprised me, but I guess thats Bugs for ya ... : ) Everyone was on stage for this little number and Johnny was even on harmonica while Bugs played on Johnny's guitar. Quite a spectical.
After the show Bill and Matthew showed me some of the coasters the bar was using that night - the Gentleman's Blues coasters! I went up to the bartender and got a handful for myself just for the asking, and later returned and convinced him that the coasters were useless after the night was done - some poor person had to sit down and write "Feb 5, Cooperstown" on every single one of the coasters ... anyway, I talked him out of the rest of the coaster (I think I got all of them at least...). I spent the rest of the tour passing them out to the C2K people that I ran into ...
On a final note, my friend walked into that show thinking that he only knew one Cracker song - Low of course, but he walked out knowing 4 of the songs they played that night, he just didnt know that Cracker did *those* songs. I told him about the new Garage D'or cd coming out, and that he should buy it since it's got the four that he knew (Teen Angst, EuroTrash Girl, Cracker Soul, and Low).
Three down .. six to go ..
